In indoor environments, there are three main options for large full-color electronic displays with an area greater than 5m2: regular rear projection, DLP (digital liquid crystal rear projection), and LED display screens.
The advantages of rear projection display screens are small pixel size and high clarity, while the disadvantages are low brightness, small viewing angle, and short lens lamp life (only a few thousand hours). The advantages of plasma stitching are small pixel size and high clarity, while the disadvantage is that there are seams. Currently, the minimum seam can reach 1mm. Rear projection and plasma display screens are suitable for closer viewing. The advantages of LED display screens are high brightness and no seams, while the disadvantages are thicker pixel particles and lower clarity. At present, the highest density of commercial indoor full color LED displays is P4, which is 62500 pixels/m2. LED display screens are suitable for viewing indoor locations with long distances.
Key considerations when selecting LED indoor display screens
When selecting indoor LED display screens, the main considerations are as follows.
① Real pixels and virtual pixels. Like outdoor full color LED displays, indoor full color LED displays can also be divided into two types of pixels: real pixels and virtual pixels.
② Tube core. Like outdoor full color LED displays, it is generally recommended that the blue and green tubes of indoor full color LED displays use the core of Styrofoam, while the red tubes use the core of Guanglei or Guangjia. It is recommended to use tube cores from Japan, Japan, and CREE from the United States for high-end products.
③ Packaging form. There are several types of LED surface forms for indoor full color LED displays, including single light, sub surface mount, three in one surface mount, and three in one surface mount, and the appearance is also different. The advantages of surface mount packaging are large viewing angle, good uniformity of luminescence, and easy automatic welding processing. It is the mainstream product of full color LED display screens, but now the price is relatively high; The single lamp has a relatively small viewing angle, slightly higher brightness, and lower price. Yabiao stickers are actually a type of single lamp. Single lights and sub surface stickers are relatively inexpensive and are transitional products.
④ Density. Due to the high heat generation and control circuit density of indoor full color LED chips, the current commercial full color screens cannot achieve high dot density, mainly including P5, P6, P7.62, P8, P10, etc.
⑤ Drive method. The driving mode of indoor full color LED display screens is constant current driving, using dynamic scanning methods (mainly including 1/4, 1/8 and other scanning methods). When the tube core is the same, there should be more circuits for 1/4 scanning and higher brightness.
